Hessische Truppen im Amerikanischen Unabhangigkeitskrieg (Hetrina) - Bd. II

Hessische Truppen im Amerikanischen Unabhängigkeitskrieg (HETRINA), Band II is part of a major documentary series compiling primary sources on the participation of troops from the Landgraviate of Hesse-Kassel in the American Revolutionary War.

“HETRINA” (an abbreviation of Hessische Truppen in Amerika) presents edited archival materials drawn largely from the Hessian state archives, including muster rolls, regimental lists, correspondence, reports, and administrative records. These volumes were produced as scholarly source editions rather than narrative histories.

Band II continues the systematic documentation of Hessian forces in British service, providing detailed information on unit organization, officer corps, troop movements, and personnel records. It is especially valuable for reconstructing the composition and deployment of specific regiments and companies.

A key strength of the series is its precision and archival depth, allowing researchers to trace individual soldiers, follow regimental changes over time, and analyze the administrative structure behind the so-called “Hessian” contingents.
